You can choose a health insurance company. Children under the age of 15 must be registered with the health insurance company. They are co-insured free of charge. The health insurance company usually provides you with a temporary membership certificate after registration. The health insurance company will then send you an electronic health card (elektronische Gesundheitskarte). With the electronic health card you can go see a doctor.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As a refugee from Ukraine, you can receive financial assistance if your income and assets are not sufficient for living expenses. You will receive free medical treatment there and get a referral to doctors if necessary. Asylum applicants in Hamburg are insured by the<span style=\"color: #02a4d5;\"> AOK Bremen\/Bremerhaven<\/span>. You do not need to register yourself, the initial reception centre (<span style=\"color: #02a4d5;\">Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung<\/span>) will take care of it.<\/p>\n<p>At the initial reception centre (Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung), you will receive a \u201ccertificate for presentation to the attending physician\u201d (\u201e<span style=\"color: #02a4d5;\">Bescheinigung zur Vorlage beim behandelnden Arzt<\/span>\u201c) and later an <span style=\"color: #02a4d5;\">electronic health card (elektronische Gesundheitskarte, eGK)<\/span>.
